5 Days 4 Nights BKK + Khao Yai with 14 adults and 4 kids (THE BIG PLANNING STARTS)

The Planning

Around June 2018, We wanted to plan a year end trip with our family and friends, thus we need to think of a place which is more economical and suitable for the young and old.

Thus Bangkok was an agreed place we have in our mind as it does not require much planning and we can just shop, eat and do massage and also the kids will get to go to Kidzania!

After we settled for Bangkok, we happen to come across Khao Yai from other travel blogs, it seems like a relax place with sunflowers and chalet like hotel. We then decided to add Khao Yai as part of the trip. And we decided 2 days 2 nights at BKK and 3 days 2 nights at Khao Yai!

Air Tickets

First thing we did was to secure our air tickets, thus we began to search for cheaper air fares. In the end after comparison, we booked with Air Asia, because some of us are flying from Malaysia and some from Singapore, and Air Asia's arrival and departure is the closest among other air lines, of cos the price too! Most economical.

Transport to Khao Yai for 3 days 2 nights

We look around travel blogs, Facebook and gather quotes for our chartered transport to Khao Yai, places we plan to go anywhere except for National Park because its not so suitable for the 6 elderly and 4 kids. At the end of the trip, it will send us to the airport.

3500 x 3 days x 2 Vans = 21,000baht

Quote from THAI Happy Taxi

2 x Vans or 1x Mini bus = 24,000baht

Because we wanted to all travel together, thus we choose the mini bus at 24000baht.

We need to make a 75% deposit to secure our booking and pay the driver 2000baht/day when we are there.

Hotel at Bangkok

We need to find a hotel that is near to shopping malls and accessible thus all of us able to roam around freely at Bangkok at our own timing. After comparing the location and price, we all settle for Metro Boutique Pratumum, its very near the Neon Market and rather accessible to various malls too! We booked the Quadruple En-Suite Bunk Beds. From the photos, the room seems rather spacious. We will update our experience in later posts!!

Hotel at Khao Yai

We also realised Khao Yai Hotels are slightly more expensive than the ones in Bangkok, maybe there are not as many hotels over there. There are many resort style and beautiful ones recommended on websites, But those are out of our budget as there are too many of us.

Finally we decided to try White Knot. It looks very relaxing and serene from the photos.

It seems to be very near to alot of tourist attraction and looks new!

Finally we settled our accommodation/transport and now is to wait for this day to arrive!
